Training the Community: How Corporate Trainers Use Their Talents to Impact Our Community

Speaker: Hailey Parkman

Have you ever wondered how you can make a difference in the community?

There are hundreds of non-profit agencies in Central Alabama, and they are addressing a variety of issues including homelessness, early childhood education, childhood obesity, financial stability and many more. While these agencies are improving people’s lives every day, they are operating on tight budgets and often do not have the ability to provide training and development for their staff and volunteers. This discussion will address ways that corporate trainers can utilize their talents to help these agencies become more efficient and create an even bigger impact in the community.

In addition, corporate trainers have a tremendous asset to offer in their relationships with co-workers. This discussion will present ideas on how to engage your co-workers and utilize volunteerism as a professional development tool. You can make a difference, and this session will provide practical ways that you can use your talents and your influence to change the community.

Hailey Parkman is the Vice President of Campaign for United Way of Central Alabama.
