Join us for a special event to learn how to integrate volunteering into your plans for achieving professional goals. Many people generally think about volunteering and the satisfaction they get from working with others toward a common goal and the strong sense of belonging it brings. However, connecting with professional and community organizations can also help expand your career and enhance your professional growth. As learning and talent development professionals, we can both reap these benefits for ourselves and help others discover them.

In our December session, representatives from United Way of Central Alabama will introduce ideas for strengthening professional and personal skills through volunteering. At the conclusion of this presentation, we will hold a short awards ceremony to recognize outgoing 2016 Birmingham ATD Board Members and others who have supported the chapter throughout the year.

This event is open to members and non-members, compliments of ATD Birmingham. Space is limited and advanced registration is required. In lieu of paying a program fee, we request attendees bring a donation of non-perishable food items to support programs at the Community Food Bank of Central Alabama

The Community Food Bank of Central Alabama relies on donations to service 12 counties throughout the state in an effort to help provide relief for food insecurity. Through their partnership with local soup kitchens, shelters, food pantries, youth homes and residential facilities, they distribute millions of pounds of food annually to non-profit hunger relief charities in Alabama.
