Have you felt unsure or unqualified when trying to design your eLearning materials, slide decks and job aids? Many people assume that designers are born with an eye for great designs but that is not entirely true. Design is an art but in many ways it is a science that can be learned. Designers follow rules and use tools that you also can use to turn an ugly design into something that functions well and looks professional. In this presentation you will learn several easy to follow rules to avoid common graphic design problems. You will see examples of bad designs and what they can look like when we improve them. You will be shown some of the tools and tips graphic designers use all the time in their work. Chris Martin is a Senior Instructional Design Analyst at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Alabama and has nine years of experience creating and designing training materials. Chris graduated from the University of Montevallo with a degree in Graphic Design and is completing his MBA at UAB this December.
