Learn how to get started using film and video to tell stories in your organization. From training-style videos to culture/documentation video, learn the basics of film composition using some of the tools you already have. We'll also discuss some basic additions to your video equipment that will have maximum impact. Wayne will help you understand pre-production planning, filming and some basics of editing film. Whether you're using a cell phone camera or a more professional set up, you will be able to get better looking video for your customers.

During this session, you will learn:

  • In a world ruled by social media, why promotional video is more important than ever.
  • Defining the goals of your video using a creative brief. 
  • Basic video, lighting and composition tips. 
  • Working with audio.
  • Script writing.
  • Choosing the right software to edit your project. 

Speaker: Wayne Degan


Wayne Degan is an American filmmaker, writer and cinematographer. After working as an assistant camera operator on several films and television shows, Wayne also showed a great talent for post-production and assisted in the editing and grading of several feature films. Wayne has written and produced multiple independent films including a Stephen King short film. He currently works for one of the largest privately held construction firms in the nation, Brasfield & Gorrie, where he utilizes his knowledge and skills to produce video and multimedia content.
