UAB Organizational & Learning Development is looking for an experienced HR Learning & Development Specialist to design, develop and facilitate skill development programs for staff and faculty including: new employee orientation, communication, productivity, interpersonal, team, and front-line supervisor skills. Candidate should be experienced consulting with business units to define core performance needs and skill development priorities and develop options to provide effective and engaging learning solutions.
Annual Salary Range: $47,486 - $74,484
Bachelor's degree in Communications, Education, Organizational Development or a related field and three (3) years of related experience required. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement. The ideal candidate will have exceptional public speaking and communication skills; experience as a facilitator who creates engaging learning experiences by asking questions, encouraging discussions, using case studies and other tools, providing in-class feedback to participants, and follows up to ensure transfer and sustained learning. Must be able to take initiative, be adaptable under pressure, have experience and knowledge of adult learning theory and practices. Must be able to design, develop and produce professional quality learning resources including instructor and participant guides, presentations and job aids.
Ideal candidate will be results oriented, self-directed, adaptable and innovative. Must be able to work collaboratively with peers and clients. Experience using tools, assessments, curating content and online delivery a plus. PC proficiency with a working knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook is also desirable.
